To collect the loans back, IRS is

To collect the loans back, IRS is not alone but the state government, private creditors, or even an ex-spouse demanding the alimony can also demand garnishment of our pay. To claim the garnishment, only different branches of the government do not need to take court orders, other than every other agency needs to obtain a court order to claim the garnishment.

Losing the income is not easy but there are some limits for garnishment. Title III of the Consumer Credit Protection Act caps the amount of wages that can be taken from an employee. In this manner, the person is also left with some part of the income as well as the creditor is also paid up. This also prevents the creditor to speed up the debt recovery procedure and harass the debtor.

The level of garnishment is based on the disposable earnings of the employee. This amount comes after deducting the legal deductions of federal state and local taxes, social security, unemployment, insurance and state employee retirement system. Things that do not come in the head of voluntary deductions are union dues, health and life insurance, charity, purchase of savings bonds and payment for payroll advance.

Westwood itches to swing a club in anger

Westwood itches to swing a club in anger

0 Comments | Sunday Telegraph, The; London (UK), Sep 5, 2010 | by Oliver Brown

IT IS Lee Westwood’s version of The Look: a cold-eyed stare, patented by Tiger Woods, and one used to signal the most ruthless intent.

He first employs it when I ask, innocently enough, about whether Colin Montgomerie has leant on him to be Europe’s pivotal player at next month’s Ryder Cup.

“I think the fact that the captain and all four assistants rung me up individually to ask my opinion answers that question for you,” he deadpans.

By his condescension, he could scarcely sound more confident. The trouble is that the best European golfer, in whom so much hope of a victory procession at Celtic Manor has been invested, is just three weeks away from the most trumpeted Ryder Cup in memory and cannot swing a club in anger.

Worse still, he will not know until the week of the event if he is even capable of lasting for 36 holes in a day.

Westwood, to his profound chagrin, is in rehab: an alien experience in his long and remarkably healthy career. His travails stem from a tear in his plantaris muscle, running the length of his right calf — a rare injury, according to the specialists who treated him.

When he discovered the problem in July he sought, with typical stoicism, to play through the pain, strapping his leg to an ice machine for several hours each day en route to his runner’s-up finish at the Open.

But four weeks ago, at the Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio, the 37 year-old realised he was doing his body more harm than good and resolved, reluctantly, to give his leg a holiday. For one day only he is taking a break from the gym to grace the opening ceremony of his golf school in Cheshire, and does not disguise his frustration at the treatment.

“It’s hard,” he admits.

“There’s a lot of watching TV and crosswords. It’s a bit like being a cricketer in a rain delay, I suppose. You’re sitting in the pavilion, so what do you do? I’ve had gym sessions for a couple of hours each morning to alleviate the boredom. I’m definitely getting the itch to start playing again.”

Westwood is adamant that when it comes to anchoring Europe’s Friday morning foursomes at the Ryder Cup, he will not just be ready, but in his fittest condition yet.

Beneath the bravado he knows, in a concern shared acutely by captain Montgomerie, that he also stands to be the least prepared he has ever been.

Still to resume putting, let alone full-blooded drives, the world No3 has not a single competitive event scheduled between now and Oct 1. His sole exposure to a full day’s golf comes at a charity event hosted by Darren Clarke and Sir Ian Botham at Archerfields, Scotland, on Sept 21-22 – and even there, he may require the use of a buggy.

Trying to quell the alarm, Westwood insists: “I’m ahead of time. I start putting at the end of this week, then chipping, then hitting longer balls. First I’ll take three holes, six holes, nine holes, and finally 36 holes. I expect it to be all right. At the moment I’m just working on flexibility of my upper body, but soon I’ll be putting weight through my legs.”

Steve McGregor, Westwood’s physio and the man who turned him into the most unlikely fitness fanatic, has cautioned that he needs to pay equal attention to his left leg if his right is not to resemble a tree trunk. Fortunately, he has a dedicated patient.

“I’ve proved before that I can take a break and come straight back in,” Westwood says. “Since I’ve become fitter and worked out more, I’ve been able to get back into playing more quickly. Fitness was a box that needed to be ticked. I try to improve every little aspect of what I do.”

Westwood’s remorseless work ethic is tied to his sense of Ryder Cup responsibility

Without it there is

Without it there is no profit.

Currently the Democrats will be attacking the President’s ?State of the Union Speech? comments saying; “Yah Sure, that is what Nixon, Reagan and everyone before said What happened? Nothing!” This is what I believe will be the next attack. But rather than allowing the Republicans the wind out of their sails and having the sound and fury cut off their strength, this is a chance to get everyone on the same page.

So, in fact uniting Republicans and Democrats in a common cause to reduce the addiction to foreign oil could be the best for all concerned, if in fact such talk is actually serious in nature. All this and more is possible if and only if there is a way to reduce the lawsuits which accompany new innovations in the market place which challenge the Auto Industry today, which is stifling the forward progression into the next period.

A large loss requires a much larger

A large loss requires a much larger gain later on to replace the lost capital. For instance, if you held a stock for a 50% loss you would need a 100% gain to counter the loss. So if a $50 stock falls to $25 before you sell, the only way to make the loss back is to buy a stock that must double in price.

Capital preservation is one the major considerations of a professional investor. If your capital is not reduced you can continue to profit from new trades. Which leads us to some buy rules. Some buy rules to include in your investing strategy;

Return of capital. How long will it take to have your initial investment returned to you so that it can be reinvested? Sophisticated professional investors want fast money. Money that moves and grows but is returned to the coffers quickly.

Return on investment. How much will your invested capital return as a profit? This is important when determining which investment to choose when deciding where to place your money.

Golfer Greg O’Mahony doesn’t fool around when he plays for money.

A $10 Nassau with one-down automatic presses wouldn’t even raise the pulse of O’Mahony, a 24-year-old from Tequesta who’s been willing to risk everything for his dream of playing professional golf.

“I’ve had my whole bank account in play three or four times in the last year,” he said matter-of-factly. “That teaches you you’d better learn how to make 5-footers real quick.”

O’Mahony’s high-stakes approach is paying off. On Friday, he shot 67 for the third consecutive day to win $5,500 at the Sunshine State Classic — the most lucrative event on Fuzion Minor League Golf Tour’s 46-week calendar. The win was O’Mahony’s fourth on the MLGT in five August starts, a level of play he hopes to continue into the fall when he’ll play in his second Q-School on Oct. 27-30 at the PGA Wanamaker Course in Port St. Lucie.

“If I keep playing the way I’m playing, I’ll be on the PGA Tour next year,” O’Mahony said.

O’Mahony, a three-time All-American at Nova Southeastern, turned pro last August a few months after he graduated. But he said he didn’t devote himself to his game until Jan. 1, when he decided it was time to see how good he could become.

“Golf is my only focus now,” he said.

O’Mahony’s single-mindedness has resulted in 11 wins in 2010, including six on the South Florida-based MLGT and the pre- qualifiers for the Honda Classic and Transitions Championship of the PGA Tour. O’Mahony also has two wins in Indiana, including the U.S. Open local qualifier at Crooked Stick — site of John Daly’s memorable 1991 PGA Championship win.

But there have some down times, too. O’Mahony’s finances were stretched so thin, he needed to borrow $1,000 in July to travel to Iowa for two events. He finished seventh in the Waterloo Open and runner-up in the Greater Cedar Rapids Open to earn $11,000.

He paid off his debt, sent his $4,500 check to Q-school and had enough money left over to keep playing, though O’Mahony said his funds were getting low until he won Friday.

“I’m still barely making it,” he said.

Even though he’d love to find a sponsor, O’Mahony feels lucky he’s still going.

“It’s so expensive to play in all these events and to travel, I knew I’d have to play well in my first year to keep myself afloat,” he said.

Patriot Golf Day this week: The Patriot Golf Day carries special meaning to PGA National Director of Golf Jane Broderick. The event, in its fourth year, will let Broderick combine her love of golf with her deep respect for the U.S. military.

“It’s one of those programs when you’re looking to do the right thing, it’s the right thing to do,” Broderick said.

From Friday through Labor Day at golf courses across the country, Patriot Golf Day will help provide post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of men or women killed or disabled while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

During the Labor Day weekend, participating facilities will add $1 to greens fees that will go the Folds of Honor Foundation and into the scholarship fund. Major Dan Rooney, a PGA professional, USGA member and F-16 military pilot with the Oklahoma Air National Guard, founded the organization after the second of his three tours in Iraq.

There are 172,000 dependents of wounded service men and women, but 85 percent of them don’t qualify for federal educational assistance. In three years, Patriot Golf Day has raised $5.3 million and awarded 1,163 scholarships.

The success of the program means a lot to Broderick, whose father, Jim Stewart, fought in World War II and the Korean War. “It does touch home definitely,” she said.

PGA National resort invites all active duty military to enjoy a complimentary one-night stay during the Labor Day weekend, with any additional day just $59. Guests also will receive big discounts on golf.

Last year, the 336-room resort was close to full.

“We wanted to go above and beyond,” Broderick said

Watch out for surveys where

Watch out for surveys where you can win vacation or even car for completing survey, while this can be real deal, be aware they may (and proboably will) want you to complete few related offers where you have to buy something in order to complete survey, so like i said in the beginning this is not really free stuff.

4. One more thing, there is numerous websites on the internet which offer free stuff or even money for your opinion and your personal information, they will have countless reasons why they need your personal informations, but NEVER give them this informations, especially when they do not post their contact info and website looks suspicious.

Pilot and The Ledger-Star, Norfolk, VA – cat's failure to use litter may be age related

cat’s failure to use litter may be age related

0 Comments | The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star, Norfolk, VA, Sep 4, 2010

Dear Dr. Fox: We have an 11-year-old, spayed female indoor cat. For 10 years, she used the litter box without fail, but in the past year she has started to defecate all over the house, including on furniture and beds.

How can we stop this behavior? We tried yelling and keeping her in the bedroom where she normally sleeps, but nothing works.

– L.S., Cape Coral, Fla.

Dear L.S.: Yelling at her is pointless and basically cruel. Giving your cat a few drops of fish oil in her food – working up to a teaspoon daily – may help, because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

That would be especially beneficial if your cat has arthritis in the back, which is a common reason for otherwise healthy older cats to become impossible to housebreak. A veterinary checkup is called for, as she most likely has an age-related physical problem.

Putting the litter in a large (2-by-3-foot), low-sided (2 inches high) tray might make it easier for your cat to maneuver around while evacuating. Massage therapy also will benefit her.

Another thing: Check if her stools are stiff. She could simply be constipated and need a stool softener such as Laxatone (from the vet). Some pumpkin or mashed lima beans, olive oil and some raw meat and liver might also help.

Dear Dr. Fox: We have a 1-year-old cockapoo who appears to be suffering from severe allergies. We’ve been treating him with antihistamines, with minimal success.

After reading up on dog allergies, I was surprised to find that they are not only common but several types of allergies can be tested for.

Our dog scratches constantly and itches to the point of turning his skin raw and scratching off clumps of hair.

What are your thoughts?

– R.A.M., Springfield, Va.

Dear R.A.M.: For various reasons, your dog’s immune system has become impaired, so giving antihistamines – or steroids – could make things worse.

A holistic approach is called for – a homemade, whole-food diet of known ingredients (deleting some, adding others to retest for hypersensitivity) would be beneficial.

Cover all areas where your dog likes to lie and sleep with old cotton sheets that you wash weekly in hot water and a little white vinegar, and bathe him every two weeks with mild baby shampoo.

Boost his immune system and improve skin condition with nutraceutical supplements such as flaxseed oil – half a teaspoon for a 15-pound dog – and one pediatric multimineral and multivitamin tablet or similar supplement that your veterinarian can prescribe

This is really compound success like compound

This is really compound success like compound interest. The gains will at first be small and imperceptible. As you apply and reinvest your gains they become more significant. ?Stack The Logs!? – reinvest in your wins and small gains. Stack up those small victories. Eventually the pile grows and others take notice.

Do More Than Expected Your goal is to make yourself indispensable. You promote yourself through actions and attitudes and ultimately separate yourself from the crowd waiting for the arrival of the S.S. Entitlement.

Separate Yourself From The Crowd ? Take initiative. A person with strong personal initiative is basically a leader of self. The mass of people wait for circumstances.

Be a catalyst. One motivated individual is yeast that can leaven an entire loaf. It requires vision, initiative, patience, respect, persistence, courage and faith to be the yeast.

Take on more work and look for ways to build value in your organization through becoming a problem solver.

Take on projects that challenge and teach you new skills, so you grow in value in your current or future organizations.

Find opportunities to do things better and more efficiently than it has been done before.

To get paid more, provide more service following the law of harvest ? sow and reap.
