What the Butler saw in his Liverpool office

6am: Alarm goes off. I reach for my iPhone to check overnight emails and quickly check the morning”s business news. The business pages are all carrying articles on the Bank of England keeping the cost of borrowing at 0.5%, marking a year of the lowest rates in its 316-year history. More good news for those lucky enough to shave tracker mortgages.

7am: The house comes alive as the children get up. I shower, get dressed and I am out of the door on the way to work.

8am: I arrive at my office at One Park West. It”s an absolutely glorious day and spring finally seems to have arrived.

The views across the Albert Dock and River Mersey are particularly stunning.

I meet with the team and discuss the agenda for the day ahead
